What’s going on super happy beautiful human people? I’m here this week with a super-fresh music monday. My name is DJ RIZZY-T and I’m here with the sickest, slickest, beats west of the Mississippi. Join me as I walk you through this personally curated playlist.
I’m putting the obligatory Drake hit that we’ve all been jamming too: Hold On, We’re Going Home, which I must have listened to over 9000 times over the weekend at number one, just because I love it so much. It’s got a certain kind of lyrical passion that only Drake possesses and it’s bedded on top of rock solid instrumentals.
I wanna keep you “Holding on” for the next track, by throwing in World, Hold On by Bob Sinclair and Steve Edwards. It’s got a slow start but if you open your mind and body up to it it will really take you for a trip. It’s got a certain creepy X-Files theme song vibe that I’m really oddly attracted to, perhaps it’s all the whistling #dealwithit. I don’t know if I ever wanna answer to the “children of the
sky”, or want this song to end, lets head onward!
I’m going to have to throw in Avicii’s Wake me up in here. It’s the perfect feel good song, interesting blend of lyrics and instrumentals. This was the first song that popped into my head this morning when I woke up.
I’m going to be straight with you, I’d really love to scream in your ear holes, but I can’t, so I’m just going to share this song with you and let David Guetta’s Ain’t A Party suffice. It’s such an adamant song that I can’t help but get into the character. Isn’t that cathartic?
It’s almost impossible for me, not to move to the beat of this next song. It’s been the late night Holstee jam for the past week. It is absolutely mesmerizing, and entrancing, here it is Shooting Stars by Bag Raiders.
I’m going to let Justice speak for itself On’n’On. Haha, you see what I did there? This track has a perfect mix of bump and grind, if ya know what I mean. I have no clue what he’s saying but if just feels so gooooooood.
I really think that Sampha has one of the soothest voices in SBTRKT’s Trials Of The Past. It’s like drinking a warm glass of milk and it has this ghastly vibe that I adore.
Don’t even consider deciphering the lyrics to this song. If you want to be put in a trance, turn up the bass, or plug in the headphones and turn up the volume. This song is slow, but when it hits at 2:34 there’s no coming back, it’s xxyyxx’s About You and it’s redonkulously stupendous. Pure wub-wub.
Let’s take a vow of silence and go with something a little more heavy with the instrumentals, don’t forget to keep that bass hight with Sweedish House Mafia’s One, turn it up and clear out those sinuses, or else!
Clap! Because I can’t get Jay-Z’s Tom Ford out of my head if I tried, the beat is so tight! I really love the 8 bit trill, it’s so subtle. Oh, and I totally agree, can we please bring back the concord! #fuckhashtags
Up next is so boss, it’s Kendrick Lamar’s Backseat Freestyle. This song just speaks for itself, it’s a total sprit lifter.
Someone I’ve been really enjoying is Trinidad James, I’m going to put in Female$ Welcome as my side, and as my main, next track.
Next song is a match made in heaven A$AP Rocky and Skrillex with Birdy Nam Nam who definitely wen’t Wild For The Night with this one.
Next one is just for fun, because who doesn’t wanna wake up in a new Bugatti. #noone
So there you have it, a decent dance playlist with no Daft Punk!
